Queen's Anniversary Prize

Our Historical Thesaurus of English has received this award, which commends ‘outstanding achievement at a world class level' and is put forward by the Prime Minister to the Queen for Royal Assent. The Historical Thesaurus is a unique resource charting the development of meaning in the huge and varied vocabulary of English. It includes almost every recorded word from Anglo-Saxon time to the present day, all arranged into detailed hierarchies of meaning.
